Happy Leap Day

Every four years we get an extra day. Don't question it, just enjoy it. Hah! Hawks says I'm getting my blogs confused - he's probably right, he usually is.

I logged into SL this morning after 2 days out to catch up on offlines, invey offers & such... so I have stuff to blog. It's all in my head but at the moment I haven't much time to get in, take pics, etc.

I've been wanting to do a post on SL to RL (Gilly suggested this for a JH Report months ago - love ya Gillian) but I'm trying to figure out exactly how I want to write that one up. Hawks & I may not be doing it right, or by the book (if there is one) but as soon as I gather thoughts & have time to just sit down & tell "our" story, I will.

Have a great leap day! Huggles & kissiepops!

RFL - It's that time...

This year I've chosen to join up with the SL RFL Racers team. The SL Relay For Life 2008 kicks off March 15th!! The RFL Racers are ready to race to the finish for a cure for cancer! Fasten your seatbelts, cause we're gonna rock the fundraising world!

Headed by Chelle Moore, a real life cancer patient and one time Hodgkin's Disease survivor, This Team is racing to the finish for a cure! RFL Racers raised over 5,700 USD, approx 1.6 MILLION LINDEN, during Relay For Life '07! RFL Racers auctioned off special edition vehicles as well as content created by top SL designers!

Relay For Life is the signature event of the American Cancer Society and has been active, and continually growing, in Second Life for 4 years. Last year, the Second Life Relay For Life (SLRFL) raised over $120,000.00 US dollars. The RFL in SL, itself, is a fun-filled, overnight event that unites SL individuals throughout the world to celebrate survivors (anyone who has ever been diagnosed with cancer), remember loved ones and raise money for the fight against cancer.

During SL's 2008 Relay for Life, there will be fundraisers and events held to benefit the Relay for Life and the American Cancer Society. The Relay will culminate with the ingame Relay Walk on July 19, 2008.

The Relay For Life in SL has the ability to virtually bring together friends, families, businesses, and support organizations from all over the world, all with the goal of eliminating cancer. All monies raised go directly to the American Cancer Society.

The Relay for Life Racers team is not just made up of racers! It is comprised of members of the SL community that are both seasoned and relatively new to Second Life. The members at this time are as follows, Bonnie Halberd, Chelle Moore, Jazz Asylum, JellyBean Madison, Kaaden Carson, Monet Minton, Monette Gaea, Naydee McGettigan, Raver Bellow, and Tazzie Tuque.

The RFL Racers are proud to have sponsors such as FirstMeta, the company that provides the MetaCard as well as the support of the Charitable Hearts, one of the largest charity groups in SL! Not to mention countless volunteers and supporters that make up the heart and soul of Relay!

IM any member of the RFL Racers team if you are interested in participating in this group for Second Life's 2008 Relay For Life or if you are interested in having a donation kiosk set up at your location or in being a donator (lindens or content for sale to benefit RFL) :)

Please stay tuned or join the ~Relay for Life Racers~ group for updates on upcoming fundraisers :)

Sometimes you're the fly - Sometimes you're the windshield...

/emo on
This week I feel like the fly. Most def, it's only Tuesday & both my lives have been off axis. In my first-life I struggle daily to figure out what people want from me "today", turns out I keep getting that wrong. I still keep trying though. Same shit, different day. I have scheduled appointments up the whowho for the rest of December. All for the greater good, but nonetheless annoying me.

In my Second-life, I feel like an outsider now in crowds I use to frequent. No fault of anyones, it's just my stupid schedule from my stupid boss that prevents me from shit I use to do regularly. I miss DJ'n with Hawks, I miss Anti-Mondays, and I miss saying "Yup! I'll be there." It's all I can do to just show up once a day, let alone all day long. [Thank you Dreamer + Sally for scheduling way out in the distance - I *will* be there]. :D Hopefully things will get better soon, I mean they really cannot get much worse.

/emo off

So anyroo... Hawks & I have been busy busy busy working on contracted vids & so on. In the meantime, we did get a chance to explore some great sims. I think at least once I week, I search the big map to see what Rezzable sims I can teleport too. The two latest finds are:

Crimson Shadow - a luscious area - worth dying for. Presented by Rezzable - vampires goths goth clothes demons RP designer wear jewelry eyes club djs events freebies family [not so sure about the family part but it's very cool & gothy]

Carnival of Doom - Last Ride of Your Life. Ebuddy, presented by Rezzable. Wander the cornfields, enter at your own risk, rides, games, blood, horror, fun, souvenirs, amusement. [This is where we shot SpookShow] WindLight users be sure to set your preset sky [advanced sky] to Gelatto & preset water [advanced water] to pond or glassy. Also be sure to wear your Carnival Hud. Chances are you *will* die, but it's okay, hell ain't so bad.

Okay I'm off to another doc appt. Be back soonish. Mwah!

Thnxgivin Blues

I'm not really feelin it this year... I mean I have the turkey in the oven and it's starting to fill the house with that cooked carcus heavenly scent but it's just not right.

Anyroo... whatev!

I've always been an idea girl. Never one to put things in motion cause that requires talent. So my head is always full of ideas. My latest big one was for SL pre-fab(ulous) home designers.

As most of you know Hawks & I own the Barnesworth Anubis Belle Aire home. We love it so much, bought it weeks ago & have yet to finish decorating it. So now it's the holidays, and I'm a big fan of Christmas in SL.

My suggestion to pre-fab(ulous) home designers is... Holiday add-on packs. For instance garland, Christmas lights, wreaths, etc. for exterior decorating this holiday season. Not only Christmas but other holidays as well. As I was going through my "seasonal folder" I realized a lot of my previously used Christmas deco is no mod, which really sucks. Barnes made a beautiful curved roof on the Belle Aire and I have yet to find hanging garland with nice lights that will curve along it. Plus the wreath I threw up there truly does suck. Anywho, if Barnes takes me up on this challenge, I'll be one happier girl. Go Barnes! Do it! Pretty please with potatoes?

If work is so terrific, why do they have to pay you to do it?

Yesterday was my day off... Woohoo! I don't blog about RL much cause it's taboo, but screw it. All I have to talk about is work since that's where I spend the most of my time now. First off, I kinda like my job, there's a few co-irkers that I could care less about working with but overall it's pretty okay. Five years ago, before SL, working was different. I was shy, quiet for the most part & just did my job. Here it is years later & I think JellyBean was unleashed on the world of retail sales. The first couple of days I thought mayhaps I was talking too much and was ready for someone to tell me to shup. That was until I met my co-irker, Bob. Now I know for a fact that I could never possibly talk as much as Bob, ever. Anywho, in a nut shell, I put in 40 hours last week & it looks like that'll be my norm. Less SL sucks but it feels good to be out & about.

Okay so on to SL stuff...

I have a to-do list like a mile long. Since time has been limited now, I find that I'm doing more of what I wanna do instead of what I need to do. RP at KSU is fun, I'm loving the classes that I can make it to. The homework sounded exciting at first, I can't get myself to really think when it comes to writing a paper on the "Socratic Method". I swear it's on my To-Do list, it's just #4 at the moment.

Hawks & I are very slowly but surely still working on the JH Report. This will be longer than normal & with me not being able to dedicate straight hourage to it, it's taking a bit longer.

On top of all that I need to get my MGG2SL post done as well as my Diary, but ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Okay priorities...

Hawks in on Bai!

Three Years in the Making

As I quickly approach my 3 years in SL (Born 7/29/2004), I thought I'd do a little wavy flashblack. Yup thats me & Aka in that pic above, believe it or not, I am the one with the brown hair & wings. I mean didn't everyone wear wings?

One of our favorite things to do was to fly around, land on roofs & just talk. I finally got skin but held on to my nooblet do for quite awhile. This is proof that I was neko before neko was cool. That pic was taken in my very first bedroom. We lived in the sky and occasionally had random visitors dropping in even then.

My one year rez-day and I had new skin, funky pink hair &... a blingy belly ring!?! I guess I dressed kinda skanky too. Woah! These were the Zouk City surfing & beach partying days.

Year 2, I had better hair, bright eyes, dark lips, better neko ears that twitched, and seriously a puggy face. Thats Phobos Jamberoo in the background. He threw me my 2nd Rezz Day party. Awww Pho. :D

Year 3 brings smaller twitchy neko ears, cool flexified pink hair, freckles & a tweaked face (no more pug - woohoo, thanks to KO mid year). In my three years I've learned that Tringo will never die, friends come & go - true friends always remain, SL is full of drama - how you handle it is the key, I will never be satisfied by weekly new releases, Aussie men are bonkers, and it's always a good time for a rooftop dance.

Hear me Grawr!

This was funny... I returned two of Aka's planters to her yesterday & this is what her email said:

Date: Fri, 15 Jun 2007 01:05:27 -0700 (PDT)

The object 'Second Life' has sent you a message from Second Life:
Your 2 objects have been returned to your inventory lost and found folder near parcel '~Mau Loa~ ' at Wildmutt 64.2922, 49.7194.

I saw this on Ana's blog & it's just too funny! ROFL!
