Pirates of the Caribbean Online

Hawks & I took a little SL vaca today. Where did we go? To Pirates Online, of course...

Set sail on the vast blue waters of the Caribbean in search of adventure, fortune, and fame in the world of the infamous Jack Sparrow and the evil Jolly Roger. In Pirates of the Caribbean Online, play alongside thousands of others and discover new myths and untold stories. Forge alliances, hunt for buried treasure and battle evil undead forces by using cunning and strategy to outwit your foes –– all to become the most notorious pirate on the high seas.

Live the Legend
Penniless and imprisoned, your life as a pirate is launched when Jack Sparrow helps you escape from jail. You learn the basics of survival early -- swordplay and cannoneering –– and learn to navigate the Caribbean, its seas teeming with the supernatural and the sinister. Every sail on the horizon marks a possible enemy, and every port town is filled with shifty citizens.

Master the mystic arts of Voodoo and use it to aid your friends and defeat your enemies. The power of Voodoo is at the command of Jolly Roger as well, but he uses it to bring the dead back to a mockery of life - animating the skeletons of long dead pirates whose fighting skills remain very much alive. The undead stalk the land and crew their own rotting yet deadly ships at sea.

You'll need gold to survive. Luckily, there are games to be found in most taverns -- the poker and blackjack tables await.

Nothing in Pirates of the Caribbean Online comes without a price, and you'll find yourself on Quests as you strive to increase your notoriety. No one but you has your survival in mind, so train hard with your weapons -- your cutlass, your dagger, your pistol, your grenades -- they're the only thing between you and defeat. If you've a mind for it, dabble in Voodoo and fight with hexes as well as steel.

Find a ship and crew it with your Friends to begin your adventures on the high seas. When the time is right -- when you're strong enough and rich enough, that is –– step up to a bigger, more powerful vessel. There's a hull for every taste. Sloops are renowned for their sheer speed while Galleons can accommodate large amounts of cargo. Frigates are built for battle, ramming hulls, and blasting out broadside after broadside from their heavy cannons. Run from them or get one for yourself.

With your increasing skills, your Notoriety will grow, but beware! Treachery and deceit lie at every point of the compass. As Jack Sparrow well knows, even the most minor encounters can have far-reaching consequences.

Pigs in Space!

Hopefully at least one person gets that reference. Haha! I cracked myself up with it. :p If you haven't heard yet, Aley Arai has her very own sim. Who is Aley Arai, you ask? Well, she is a super genius, of course. She makes full immersion sci-fi things using megaprims, sculptys, and super detailed custom textures to keep the prims a fraction of whats out there. She doesn't sell anything, and says "if the art rules your whole life and everything else is just *filler* you know what i'm on about :)"

Hawks & I went and checked out her sim - Privateer Space, on a recommendation of Alex. It's going to be developed into a huge super immersion silly sci-fi playland for everyone. a non commercial venture. The philosophy for Privateer Space is basically *nothing thats a commonality in SL will ever be here*(i.e no shops, no malls, no campers, not even a sim donation jar, no advertisements, no signs, no billboards, no clubs, no PR0n! and the only bots are actual prim robots :D). So if you are a real explorer, this is one sim you really need to go checkity check. Yes, Chestnut, I mean YOU. :p

I am a Space Pirate there, so don't fook with me if you see me, I'm heavily armed thanks to Aley. :D No, actually, please fook with me. That might be funner.

Oh and the sim is open to any AV type that can confirm to a PG sim (i.e. no mutilated babys or nakkie peoples). "Lots of the RPG sims have strict AV rules that amount to out right racism," according to Aley. Her sim is different.

Weird aliens welcomed and encouraged but no eating the visitors. The sim is 100% physics vehicle friendly and more spaceships will soon be out for people to play with. Anyone can bring their own, only an issue if there way to huge.

Go visit Aley's sim Privateer Space and if you see her, tell her HAI and that JellyBean & Hawks sent ya. :)

Day O'Fun

As soon as Hawks & I logged in this morning... his plan was to take turns for a day o'fun. No blogs, no stress, no crap all day. Well, it has been fun - even though Tiny Empires, impromptu visitations & blogs did get involved. We're type A people, ya know. We can try to plan a day to relax but ya know it's not all that relaxing if you gotta work at it. :p The idea was that each of us take turns picking a place to go, we stay there til one or both of us were funned out or bored... Then we'd say "Switch!"

Things we did:
And then....
Hawks took a nap. :p

The day isn't over yet. We still have tringo with Dreamer at 12 SLT (Hawk's Tringo). That is *if* Hawks wakes up from his nap in time this week. :p

There's No Such Thing As Natural Beauty!

We work hard at it, damn it. :p Yesterday as soon as I logged in Laylah & Rosie whisked me off to Costa Luna Isles Resort & Spa [Surf, dancing, dining, swimming, hang gliding, jet ski, suite rentals, and so much more! Escape to paradise!] where we spent the majority of our morning being virtually pampered until Lala left & Rosie had to go.

This place was so complete all the way down to avocado masks & mineral baths, massages & manicures, cheese & wine. If you have an hour to kill it's well worth the explore. As soon as SL is back up I'll put the SLURL.

Sometimes you're the fly - Sometimes you're the windshield...

/emo on
This week I feel like the fly. Most def, it's only Tuesday & both my lives have been off axis. In my first-life I struggle daily to figure out what people want from me "today", turns out I keep getting that wrong. I still keep trying though. Same shit, different day. I have scheduled appointments up the whowho for the rest of December. All for the greater good, but nonetheless annoying me.

In my Second-life, I feel like an outsider now in crowds I use to frequent. No fault of anyones, it's just my stupid schedule from my stupid boss that prevents me from shit I use to do regularly. I miss DJ'n with Hawks, I miss Anti-Mondays, and I miss saying "Yup! I'll be there." It's all I can do to just show up once a day, let alone all day long. [Thank you Dreamer + Sally for scheduling way out in the distance - I *will* be there]. :D Hopefully things will get better soon, I mean they really cannot get much worse.

/emo off

So anyroo... Hawks & I have been busy busy busy working on contracted vids & so on. In the meantime, we did get a chance to explore some great sims. I think at least once I week, I search the big map to see what Rezzable sims I can teleport too. The two latest finds are:

Crimson Shadow - a luscious area - worth dying for. Presented by Rezzable - vampires goths goth clothes demons RP designer wear jewelry eyes club djs events freebies family [not so sure about the family part but it's very cool & gothy]

Carnival of Doom - Last Ride of Your Life. Ebuddy, presented by Rezzable. Wander the cornfields, enter at your own risk, rides, games, blood, horror, fun, souvenirs, amusement. [This is where we shot SpookShow] WindLight users be sure to set your preset sky [advanced sky] to Gelatto & preset water [advanced water] to pond or glassy. Also be sure to wear your Carnival Hud. Chances are you *will* die, but it's okay, hell ain't so bad.

Okay I'm off to another doc appt. Be back soonish. Mwah!

Pic of the Day!

Hawks & I were exploring Rezzable sims when we happened across the carnival of the Ebuddy Rezzable sim. The pose is from Tuli & the sim is build - with 1 min auto return. Anyroo, I love this pic of us... tote!
Sweetest Dreams! Mwah!

Into the miasma...

So it's Wednesday, hump day for ya'll, but for me it means 1 week til I'm workin and stuff. I can't go into detail though, cause it's too much RL, but it does mean I'll have less SL time. So today until then I plan on making the most of the SL and the shit I need to get done in there. My to-do list:
  1. JH Productions: Tank Girl - get on the writing dept. to start kicking out some ideas.
  2. Jelly's Closet post(s)
  3. TE Madison line Family Party planning (we have a DJ - thanks Guenevere)
  4. Get more surfing time in at La Bahia
  5. Spit out another semi-solo project in between the TG series

Turning Gears

Oi! I definitely do not wanna post about Tiny Empires this post... Sooo let me give an update on what's been happening.

Tringo
Tringo has currently been dismantled for the time being. We are moving to a new plot that will be a lot better on a Class 5 sim. The land won't be available for at least 4 days. We'll let you know when we're back up & running.

JH Productions
Hawks & I have decided to go full speed on this as a major project. As we are already in the process of moving tringo, we've also pulled in the best of the best & we're working on the official JH Productions headquarters/offices. I think this is a great thing. Of course Hawks gets full credit for the idea but jinkies... I'm so freaking excited about working with some very talented peeps side by side with Hawks. Mwah babe!

Monday Clockwork
Don’t miss the popcorn with Smooby!

Clockwork is open from 6-9; the funky popcorn starts at 8!

Then don't forget Tuesday Clockwork with me & Hawks from 6-8 p.m. SLT. Hawks' theme this week is psychological disorders, so don't miss it!

Suggestion Suffugium
Suffugium, n. A place of refuge. Dystopian future city with cyberpunk influences. Hang out, go shopping, or see the sights, but watch out for police drones!

Greetings and welcome, sub-citizen, to the city of Suffugium.

We at Suffugium Technologies have made every effort to ensure that your stay with us is a pleasant one. You will undoubtedly notice the AI-Controlled Security Drones on patrol throughout the city; they have been programmed to perform routine biological scans upon citizens and sub-citizens alike in an effort to keep our city safe. Please submit to their scans; it will only take a moment, is not known to cause any injury, and ensures your future security within our jurisdiction. Do not interfere with the activities of the Security Drones under any circumstances.

While you are free to roam the streets of our city as you please, we must inform you that some parts of the city are, unfortunately, closed to sub-citizens. We are certain that you will understand our ongoing efforts to ensure the security of our citizens and will stay clear of areas where access is blocked. Suffugium Security is pleased to announce that the quarantine in place on the south side of our city, the area known as "Old Suffugium," has been lifted and the roads leading there have been re-opened.

For those of you who prefer to fly, we ask that you keep to the ground as much as possible to ensure that the skies of our city remain clear and bright. Our airspace is strictly monitored by our Security Division; therefore, we must remain vigilant to assist them in their never-ending job of keeping you safe. As well, for the continued safety of all citizens and sub-citizens, please refrain from the use of weaponry within the city.

Finally, please report any suspicious activity to Suffugium Security at once, and do not approach suspicious inhabitants. It is unsafe to speak freely, as the ears of the anarchists are always listening. We are in the midst of an ongoing campaign against the anarchists, and we are pleased to report that the terrorist element is very nearly beaten. Criminal activity, including subversion, is not tolerated and will be punished quickly and severely.

Welcome and once again, enjoy your stay and thank you for helping make Suffugium a brighter tomorrow - for all of us.

Sincerest well-wishes,
Suffugium City Operations for
Hiroshi Warren, CEO, Suffugium Technologies

Ask and you shall receive...

Well woot to last Tuesdays hour long Cure set. We had an awesome crowd and I had a blast, so I hope everyone else enjoyed it as much as I did! Per request of the crowd, I am going to be doing an 80's alternative set this Tuesday from 6-7 at Clockworks with The Smiths being the feature band (soz Alex... lol). I have 19 minutes of Smiths' tunes but you will also find some Morrissey, Cure, Depeche Mode, New Order, Xymox, and Ian McCulloch to round out the night. Bring your tissues, and your emo issues out to Clockworks for an awesome time! And Jelly will now be able to attend, so added bonus!

Then stay tuned as Jell cranks the moods back up with some ska for an hour, to get everyone's adrenaline pumping before logging off to sleep.... lol. Well okay, maybe I am the only one headed to bed soon after Jell's set.

DJ Hawks presents... The Cure

So while Jelly is off at her Hula classes in order to receive her Hawaiian pass as an official state resident, I will be filling in for her first hour during her normal gig at Clockworks. This means you can hear me DJ from 6-7 SL time on Tuesday night followed up by Jelly from 7-8. Therefore, you can get the 1-2 tandem of team Jawks for your listening dancing pleasure each and every Tuesday night. I enjoy some great ska as much as the next moshing neck breaker, but I am going to take this time to highlight some of my favorite music. In other words, expect a lot of alternative ranging from 80's, 90's, and the present. I am in a rediscovering The Cure phase in my life right now, so for my first hour I am going to be presenting 1 hour of some of my favorite Cure songs and mixes.

Looking ahead, I plan on incorporating themes into my music selections. Some of the themes I am working on right now are:

Songs people are surprised I like
Psychological Disorders
Songs that make me want to move
Drugs
Hair bands
Best cover songs
Emo Bands
Bands/Songs for social causes
80's Alternative
90's Alternative
Songs that make you go hmmmmm
All around fav songs
Religious Influences - an Atheists perspective

So for this week, if you love The Cure, then this will be a great set for you. Come on out, and bring your friends to Clockworks from 6-7 on Tuesday, and then tune in for Jelly's great Ska and Rockabilly set from 7-8.

Toxic Garden Rezzable

Danger! Wear armband! Beware ant-bots!
The Toxic Garden is beautiful--but deadly to avatars.

Wander one of the most interesting and exotic gardens in SL--but at your own risk. The plants have accessed the grid and now want to keep human life away.

Apparently people tried to settle this area around time of World War 1. However only a few traces of that attempt at establishing a utopia remain. Only the plants with sumptuous flowers and enticing fruits are here to tell the story of the Toxic Garden.

"Tell me something I can't get from a blog..."

Have you ever gotten to the point that you point people to your blog when they ask whats been going on? I realize that in my non-Hawks time I blog a lot but do I blog everything? Am I hiding stuffs? :o *gasp* Not Jelly, no, no , no. Pshaw! I'm shocked!
On to current events...

Laylah "Bewbs" FINALLY gets new boots.
Yes, you heard it here first folks. Haha! I'm sure if it wasn't for Wrath's unexpected absence I would have totally been scooped by The Inside Scoop®. Luckily for me I got the story first. Though we did find her Shiny Things Old Lace Up Boots fashionable for awhile, they did begin to stink and I suspect that there was fromunda cheese growing in between her toes. Everyone can finally take a deep breath (literally) now to know that she has bought FORM Klunks.

WeatherSystem 1.20
I'm not a huge fan, or err, a fan at all of the Collection Damani pre-fabs because the alphas drive me up the farking wall. However the man (Damanios Thetan) is a bleepin genius. After Hawks wrote his 101 Ways to Woo, I thought "Wow time to step up my game" in case he plans on whipping any of those out soon. Wooage retaliation tactics. Check! Check! We've already discussed setting the mood with music, but what about weather? Who doesn't love a little Metisse - Boom Boom Ba with some local lighting while the rain slides slowly down the window glass? Eep! Lost myself for a second. (song at bottom). Sl doesn't give us choice (yet) so let me introduce you to damani FX - WeatherSystem. Ever wanted to experience a heavy thunderstorm at night in SL, or that slight drizzle of a lonely day. With the WeatherSystem, you can. Offering rain, snow, thunder & lightning, you now control the weather. Check it out - it's well worth the L.
Damania - prefabs, cats, cars & more

Hot Spots for Bored Moments
If you haven't heard about it yet, you've been living under a rock. It's been a few months since I first blogged about Epic Conditions Surf in the Weather Channel sims (Epic Conditions Surf, Ski, & Bike). I went back the other day & found it to be an even more awesome experience. It seems the hype has died, and there's no more fighting for waves. There was only one other girl in the line up with me and as always the surf kept pounding us & giving us the epic wave conditions we came for. The surfboards are free on the beach. You just drop, hop on & goooo. Paddle, paddle, duck, paddle, sit, paddle, ride! See? Easy peasy!

Next is the new Straylight sim. It's a strikingly beautiful botanical sim filled with sculpted trees and water by Kriss Lehmann (3D Sculpted prim designer) that created these gorgeous trees with prim/particle foliage. When you go, be sure to stop & see the sculpted water. Not all of the water is sculpted but the streams that are, are extraordinary. I've seen some great sims but this one has definitely made it into my top 5. Unfortunately the sim is no build so you cannot plan a romantical picnic under one of it's many shaded areas. The silver lining to that dark cloud is the fact that all the trees, lighting & water are for sale. All you have to do is follow the paths to the center of the sim. You can take some home & build your own botanical romantical atmosphere. Oh yes, and take caution, a lot of the mainstream designers are running around like elves, fairies & half furries there at the moment. Please don't poke the nature folk.

Wildmutt - How YOU doin?
We've sold 6,798 square meters. Yay us! Sadly we still have 17232 square meters still left to sell until we can move to our new dream land. Wish us Gluck!

That's all I have for now... PUSH PLAY! Kisses!

Clock Island

Back to my normal blogging schedule... :D
"URASIMA" is said to be the island, where the crazy genius lives. I stumbled across this sim in non-Hawks time yesterday and was completely amazed. Not only is it a great photo location, but there's a mystery behind it. Mayhaps ya'll will have better luck figuring out the riddle.

At the tp point there seems to be instructions but things I touched gave me notecards with clues written in a different language (most likely Japanese). I'm assuming that I don't have the right language installed in SL since it just came up as ******. Visiting the crazy-genius website confirmed that it was a different language, though some of it is in english. If you ask for hints though, you get question marks unless that language is installed in your computer.

The sim is owned by bascu Ling which could be the SL name for FRANCK MULLER. World Commerce Corporation seems to behind the website & most likely the build. Sorry I'm not a super sleuth to dig up all the facts on it but if anyone finds out anything else or knows more please let us know.

Hawks & I were there today & he was able to translate some using Babel Fish translation site. It made our heads hurt. So in any case, it still remains a cool place to take pics all Alice in Wonderland-ish.
To get to Clock Island, just tp here.

Honeymoon Retreat - Smuggler's Paradise

Jelly and I looked far and wide, through many different classified listings looking for the ultimate Honeymoon getaway location. We found lodges, sky boxes, and other rental spots that ranged from sleazy (meaning looket we have a sex-gen bed you can rent by the hour) to things that were comparable to our beach house... where we couldn't really justify spending extra dough on something we already have. But after looking for a few days, we fell upon the PERFECT get away for us... which was the Smuggler's Paradise Island Retreat run by Annmarie Valentine of the Happily Ever After company. We found that for the price of 3500L's we could rent about 1/2 the sim for a period of 24 hours.

The build featured a custom pirate ship built by Relic's Baron Grayson and designed by CoolRay Popinjay. There is an office, captain's quarters, dining area, lots of prime spots for dancing and sitting, or hidden nooks and crannies where you can fulfill all of your pirate secks fantasies... *winks*. The renter can control access to add as many or as few people as you want to bring on your adventure with you.

There was also a castle featuring all the amenities you would expect to find in a fully functioning castle. The decor features a lot of Bondage and Dom/Sub type imagery as well as a few fun accessories. You did write down the creator's name on that one, right hun? kkthnx The castle also housed the media center where you can listen to over 250 radio stations, or watch any of the 200+ porn films on the big screen. One of the funniest things to happen on our getaway was that when we first arrived we thought we were just listening to a music station, except we kept hearing this moaning going on, and we were both trying to figure out if it went with the song... it took a bit for us to realize that a movie was playing at the same time as the music and all that moaning went along with something a lot more interesting than the music station.

Finally, when we weren't having fun with the ship or the castle, there were also beautifully landscaped grounds all around the sim with flowers, a gazebo, waterfall, cuddle rugs, animated logs around a campfire, and assorted other scenic areas to hang out and just be a couple. It was a great chance for Jelly and I to spend some real quality time together. We mostly enforced a no-contact rule with the outside world which everybody was really cool about respecting our time. Jelly lived without constant updates on blog lines for the 1/2 days we were able to spend together, which doesn't sound like much to a non-Jelly person, but that was actually a really big deal... lol. We learned a lot more about each other, and had a really great time! We are already talking about doing it again sometime soon.

If any of you are looking for some quality couple time, or else want to go reenact any of your pirate/castle storming role plays, then by all means check out the rental office where you can rent the Smuggler's Paradise place or else try out one of the other themed areas like The Geisha or The Roman. If you aren't up to shelling out 3,500 L's for a 24 hour period you can also rent them by the hour at the rate of 400 L's / hour. Annmarie Valentine was super hostess and went out of her way to make sure that we were set up correctly, so I am sure you can drop her an IM if you want any additional information.
