Changes to Snapzilla

After a full weekend with no Snapzilla... Snapzilla is back up fully, with all 240,000+ images, including those sent this weekend while the site was closed. Image processing is turned back on. Please note that if you sent images on Saturday and Sunday, most will appear in the list of images for Monday. You can also easily find them by filtering by your avatar name. Thank you for your patience, it was not an easy site to move. If you do find any problems, please let me know asap at support@sluniverse.com.

A few bugs that Cristiano is currently working on are Flickr support & the font customization feature (i.e I cannot pink my text there anymore).

So as I catch up with all the blogs, drama, lynch mobs & scandals after the honeymoon... That one line caught my eye, so it became my title. Haha! OMGWTFBBQ! Scandal? In SL, really? Drama is everywhere... here's my favorite definition:
The Five Signs of DRAMA:
1. If you only listen to one side of a story, and then form your opinion, you might be a DRAMA member.
2. If you take sides when two of your friends are fighting, which only adds to the DRAMA, you might be a DRAMA member.
3. If you don’t talk to someone because you’re mad at them, you might be a DRAMA member.
4. If you worry more about what other people are doing, instead of focusing on yourself, you might be a DRAMA member.
5. If you continuously gossip, or talk negatively about total strangers in a social setting, or talk about someone behind their back (whether it be friend, foe, or strange), you might be a DRAMA member.
So what, we all know she was a Whitfield, and we care why? I don't. Moving on...

NO BEAN LEFT BEHIND
Here it is day 2 of voice in the main grid & *I* still don't have it. Anyone else feel the irony of this? I'm like the biggest voice supporter between me & Hawks, and who gets voice? Hawks!!! He doesn't even want it. Lmao So, here's what I think the issue is & I'm going to test my theory tonight... I believe it's because I have 2 soundcards (onboard & external) for dual dj'ing on one stream. Tonight I'm going to pop one of those suckers out & see if that works. I'm tired of not being able to eavesdrop, I mean converse with others. Tote. Wish me gluck! Ya'll won't be able to shut me up. Just ask Hawks. :p

Flickr & Snapzilla
Yay! I get it now. Thanks to all ya'll that helped me finger it out. You Rock! Oh yes, you really do! Gold stars for everyone! My Flickr stream is here if ya wanna add me. I do like the organizing, tagging & edit features over Snapzilla. Eventually Cristiano has plans of the upgrade but it is taking forever. So for now I'll send the special ones to Flickr & the run of the mill hangage ones to the Zilla.
Recent changes to Snapzilla: On Wed, August 1st, Linden Lab changed the postcard format to increase picture quality and size. Previously, no matter what your settings in SL, all postcards came out a fixed size (40X480 or so). Now, the resolution and quality settings are not ignored - the postcard images will come through in the resolution and quality that you pick. This results in much higher resolution images, without the annoying JPEG blur on them. is This also means dramatically increased storage and bandwidth requirements for me, and a change in how picture are displayed on the site to accommodate larger sizes. Please bear with me while I adapt the site to these changes. ~Cristiano
He has also removed the star ratings and in my opinion that's fucking awesome. I saw it used more for vindictiveness than for good & I think people can now live without fear of 1-star rater stalkage.

Post-Honeymoon
I have to say that I enjoyed it way more than I thought I would. I did miss blogging so much and when Hawks wasn't on, I did venture off our little slice of heaven but not too far. During the time he wasn't on, I was pretty occupied with my current RL stuffs so it was nice to fall into each other's arms when we both logged in after a long day. We did some fun getting to know each other better things & I just have one thing to say: I am so lucky to have married one smart & sexy man. :D Oh yah and yay for randomness... ha!

Goodbye Wildmutt
We've put our two parcels for up for sale in Wildmutt. One is on the corner of three sims (Mignon, Wellard & Lassie) and the other (our garden area) was more inland but still borders the Mignon simline. We decided that together Hawks & I would like to shop, and purchase a new place for just us to include water & all the sports that go with. :D We may settle for smaller as I believe we have almost 19000+ sqm in Wildmutt alone. I think we found where we wanna be, it's just a matter of getting there before it's gone.

Flickr
I have a premium Flickr account and no freaking clue how to navigate it or how to use it. I've been using Snapzilla all this time and I've heard there's a way to cross post. Anyone know? Is there any special features of one over the other? Why is Flickr so pop-u-lar now? I have no idea why I paid a year for it other than the fact that *I* could, so *I* did. :p I think I have mayhaps 4 pics on Flickr as opposed to my 5159 on Snapzilla. :/ Any ideas, suggestions and/or help would be greatly appreciated. :D

2.0 Zilla Update Revisited

After two years and over 150,000 pictures, Snapzilla is about to emerge from beta and jump right to version 2.0. SL's best photo sharing site is about to get even better.

I know I posted this before but after waiting, sitting on my thumbs, waiting, playing with my pinking toes, and waiting some more I finally im'd Cristiano. The scoop is eta is ASAP - the group stuff is done, the new delay has been in creating a new registration for Snapzilla since he switched the forums to a new platform and he is about to close the old forums which Snapzilla used for registration.

In addition a new shopping site is being added. Which you can view here. It combines the browsing style of an online store with the ease of use of posting a forum post anyone can place an ad easily you just need a picture of the product, a SLURL link to where to buy it, and boom. As a shopper, you can add things to your wish list so you can easily go back to them when you want to buy them in world.

If you know anyone who sells stuff, let them know about it - He hasn't done a formal launch yet as he would like to get it filled with more content. The new SLU Classifieds site initially it will just contain new product announcements, but will expand to contain land for sale and rent, help wanted, and more. In creating new forums, Cristiano didn't want repeat the same format that has been used over and over again ad nauseum.

Some highlights of the new classifieds:

- They are fully integrated with these forums. Once you are registered here, you can post an ad there
-Ads can contain multiple images
-Ads are searchable by text and keywords
-Specialized fields such as permissions, prim counts, minimum plot sizes, etc.. for different categories
- You can view ads by seller, date, popularity, randomly, etc..
- You can add an ad to your watch list, to make a list of products you want to buy.
- You can leave comments on ads and also rate vendors. These features will be moderated to protect against abuse.

Placing ads on the site is free - all you need is a single product image - the system will create the other sizes for you automatically.

Please note - if you are having any trouble seeing the site, add this URL to your ad blocker white list: http://www.sluniverse.com/php/ads/ . Some users have had issues with the site appearing blank or not having images - it is an ad blocker interfering.

If you need additional categories added, please send Cristiano a private message. Once you place an ad, you can edit it - the link to edit is near the bottom of the ad, under User Options.

Hope you enjoy the new site - it is still undergoing some cosmetic changes, so excuse the mess.

The Zilla Jumps from Beta!

Oh yes... wave as Snapzilla makes the jump from beta to version 2.0 actually, to go with the whole Web 2.0 theme, plus Snapzilla is now 2 years old.

After two years and over 150,000 pictures, Snapzilla is about to emerge from beta and jump right to version 2.0. SL's best photo sharing site is about to get even better. Coming in June (slightly delayed), some new features include: - picture uploads -a brand new picture browser - a list of places to visit later - much easier tagging and album creation - custom SL teeshirt creation from Snapzilla pictures - member profiles -new comment system -new search options and -Snapzilla groups.

I think the feature that has me most interested is the new "Groups" feature. You would be able to create a group, give it a name and email address - then anyone could submit pictures to it by emailing that address. (This makes it much easier for like, let's say my Blingtard album.) As the owner of the group, you could remove pictures if needed from the group, and also control what the text at the top of your group page says. The pictures will still display normally as individuals, but it will also give the group name on it - and each group will have their own page with a header that can be edited to add a logo, text, etc. As for this new group feature, Cris says, he has already "implemented the code for it, I just need to make the page to define the group, so hopefully it will be the second new feature I roll out this weekend." It will work sorta like this: you & your friends will just email to blingtardgroup@slpics.com versus the regular pics@slpics.com, for example.

Also, another new feature not even mentioned much yet is a new recent activity screen, that will have tabs that show your latest pictures, latest pictures from those on your buddy list, recent comments on pictures, etc. How cool does that sound? *runs off to kick people off her buddy list*

Another thing to be implemented is an easy way to do combined searches. So you can search for pictures with a certain tag, matching a certain keyword, from a certain sim, and/or from a certain person. That is a little overkill as an example but for example you could search for all of the pictures you have taken that are tagged blingtard, which works now but it gets confusing. This new search feature will be much easier - because you could search for pictures you have taken in the past week from a certain sim, for example as well.

Later tonight Cristiano will hopefully release a piece of 2.0 as a preview - the new browser. He'll then roll out pieces of it instead of a giant release to get it out faster.

Postcard Issues Continue...

After Hawks & I realized that our postcards weren't getting thru to Snapzilla last night I decided to test sending them to my email. Hm... I received them there fine and within like 3 minutes. Next step was to IM Cristiano. He was unavailable last night so I checked in with him this morning thinking that just mayhapsibly our postcards were stuck behind a pic of a big av ass & sitting in a queue. Newp. Not there.

Confirmed with LL they are still having problems - even if you did receive some to your email, others are still having problems - there is nothing Cris or you can do about it except keep reporting it. Bleh, I'm tired of reporting, and reporting and reporting. It was fixed... tell that guy to stop touching things! Snapzilla is my picture diary of my slife. I need it back. :(
