Blogger Party! Wuwu!

Cross posted from:

Vint Falken: Who’s hosting the next Second Life Bloggers party?

Zoe Connolly’s looking for a victim with blood type 0 a host (or hosts) for the next Blogger Party. Now, why is hosting a SL Blogger Party so much fun?

  1. You get to pick the location.
  2. You get to pick the strippers.
  3. You get to pick the DJ.
  4. You get to meet a lot of kewl, interesting and hawt Second Life Bloggers. Oh, and Veyron too! *ducks for incoming fire*
  5. You get to tell Prok she’s not invited.
  6. You get to pick the theme. (Who says webpolls can’t be tricked? ;))
  7. You get a lot of attention.
  8. You get to spend a lot of time setting the whole thing up.

Past hosts, did I miss something?

If you feel a bit insecure, or not sure anybody will attend if you are hosting, feel free to pick a co-host. And drop me an IM too, I have the neatest idea for an invitation-system. And, Smiley, no! We are not keeping this one on the Teen Grid. Sorry.

Zoe’s original lines:

If anyone would like to host the next Second Life Bloggers party, please let me know in the next few weeks.
I’m thinking we could use a party in February or March depending on host/hostess schedule , party theme selection, etc….
SLBloggers parties are usually held on Sundays .

SecondLife Group Limit - Who speaks for the masses?

The group limit use to be 10, but people bitched that it wasn't enough. It was raised to 25 and still people bitch now that it isn't enough. Are you so popular that you need to be in every group that you are invited to? I say no. Are you some land mogul that needs 25 different groups? Mayhaps. Point is that even if they raised it to 50 or even 100, people will still bitch that it just isn't enough.

Veyron has started a blogger movement for people to vote on the Jira to increase the group limit. I didn't join the movement at first because well, I don't care about increasing the group size limit. Honestly it's more about self-control & prioritizing in my opinion. Hawks & I don't even have all of our group slots filled. We belong to 5 that we created & use, the rest are ones that we feel we want to be a part of, but do not necessarily *need*, with room for more.

The neatest thing since pawpkorn was the subscribe-o-matic. I still belong to a lot of fashion/designer groups without taking up spots. More people should use that if it's available.

I guess my stand is that there are more pressing things to be bitching to LL about other than increasing the group limit. I think the Jira is a great way for LL to listen to their residents, but when it's used for such mediocre things such as this, the important issues may get buried or lost in the crap. Just be thankful you have any group slots at all.

TMI Tuesday - A Holiday Meme

Here are the rules:
(1) Each player starts with answering the questions about themselves.
(2) People who are tagged need to write a post on their own blog (answering same questions) and post these rules.
(3) At the end of your blog, you need to choose five (ha! I so changed it) people to get tagged and list their names.
(4) Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.

1. Are you and early shopper or a late shopper?
2. What is your favorite cartoon (current or passed)?
3. On a scale of 1-10, how competent are you on home repair projects?
4. What is your favorite holiday tradition?
5. Describe your favorite kiss? Do you give it or receive it?

Bonus (as in optional):What is the best holiday gift you have ever gotten? Best you've given?

Borrowed from TMI Tuesday

My Answers...
1. Are you and early shopper or a late shopper?
Def late, as in I haven't shopped for Christmas yet.

2. What is your favorite cartoon (current or passed)?
CHOWDER! *I believe you cannnnn coooooook!*

3. On a scale of 1-10, how competent are you on home repair projects?
Prob a 3, I really suck at it and instructions? Aren't those just manufacturer suggestions?

4. What is your favorite holiday tradition?
Receiving my Mom's Christmas fudge in the mail! :p

5. Describe your favorite kiss? Do you give it or receive it?
Hmmm... I'll get back to ya on this one.

Bonus (as in optional):What is the best holiday gift you have ever gotten? Best you've given?
My L.A. Gear jean jacket in High School, oh my gosh, I wanted it so bad. As for one I've given... hmm. I'm not really sure.

Now I tag Cierra Theriac, Dilligafah Hoodoo, Rosie Shark, Akasha Nyak, & Chestnut Rau.

August Blogger Party Theme

From Veyron's Blog post:
Alright, it looks like we have some sort of consensus on what to vote on. At least we don't need a poll on what to vote on. JellyBean and Hawks sound like they are going to host the next party. Do we have a date yet on when the party is? I'd like to close voting 5-7 days before the party.

I'm guessing the party will be on Sunday, August 19th? Does that sound mid monthish? I think that's right. Anywho let me know if it doesn't sound right & vote vote vote. Haha! Super heroes is so kickin ass!

After Hour Bloggers

So thanks to my informer, Wrath Paine (song at bottom just for you)... I was able to catch a clubtastical, live spinnin, after hours blogger party with Hawks at Clockwork [SLurl], Mainline Philadelphia, Topgol! Wuwu! Not only that but I got to bring Aka & Rosie too. Eventually later Laylah showed as we were heading out. Represent girlfriend.

It was so nice to see the bloggers that I am slowly but surely beginning to know & love so much, letting down their hair & wow the street clothes. I had a fashiongasm. There was more style in this room than all over some of the top rated fashion blogs. Thanks for the invite, it was a blast!

(Copied over from (n)eXt by Alexander Burgess on M is for Myg)

First set: Monday, 7/16/07

This Monday the soundscape is wide open, covering everything from the latest indie rock to the glitchiest idm, electroclash to blog rock, postrock soundscapes and digital tweaking, songs you can dance to, thrash to, smoke hash to. Songs you’ll be humming for days. This is where you’ll get what you need. Line up and let Chef keTchUp feed you one hour of superfresh sonic treats for your hungry ears. New songs in every set, no repeats. Dance your av off and get in on some friendly conversation with the similarly obsessed. And for those of you who live in European time zones or just plain miss it, the sets will be available as downloadable podcasts right here on Tuesday mornings.

So consider this the formal announcement of the opening of Clockwork. The schedule is still in flux but it’s time to be spinning. Expect a smorgasbord of delicious sets by a select group of djs building the reputation of the tastemaking leviathan that Clockwork promises to be.

And if that wasn’t enough, this Monday 7/16 will include a special A-list party (everyone’s invited) to celebrate the Season 2 premiere of Met a Stranger. Be sure to catch the first episode Monday right here on M is for Myg!

July Blogger Party Yesterday

(Picture from Looker Lumet's Flickr)
Yesterday the loverly dinee Ghia hosted the 2nd Monthly Blogger party that Hawks & I have attended. The theme was pirates (Mmm yummy pirates). I believe Hawks & I were the only two pirates that didn't go to Bare Rose. :p Just kidding, in actuality we're the only ones to go to Rebel Hope. :) There were so many bloggers, some of which I had never met before, and some I only knew of from their blogs. Dinee's house was beautiful and held everyone nicely. We did happen to crash the sim, but that's just a sign of a kick-ass shindig.

Unfortunately Hawks & I were semi-afk'ish for most of the event. We have A.D.D but promise we won't be at next month's August Blogger Party as we are hosting it at our place. When we know more, you'll know more. :D

July Blogger Party

Highlighted from Chloe Streeter's Blog:

Veyron has closed the voting, and the theme for the blogger meet on Sunday is pirate.

I hope to see a lot of you there. C'mon, you know you have nothing better to do. Maybe we'll even have some ninjas drop in and finish the whole pirates vs. ninjas debate once and for all. It could happen!

So dust off that parrot, varnish that pegleg, and make it to dinee's on Sunday for a ship-wrecking, treasure-finding, cutlass-wielding good time! If ye don't, ye'll be feelin' the point of me blade!

And if ye need help with the lingo, land lubber, ye best be checkin' here.

Arrr!

Every fight is a food fight when you’re a cannibal...

Soda Pawp!
Anywho, woke up this a.m. to a folder of skins. Oh my goodness graciousness! Free skin?! Hell Yesh! I was chosen by Charlotte Morellet to receive & give feedback on her ::Soda:: Allison Skins - Beta Test. Wuwu! Not sure why I was chosen exactly. According to the notecard "...have sent this folder to a small number of SL Fashionistas whose opinion I value enough to ask for help testing my new upcoming skin line." Fashionista? Newp that's not me, not anymore. I don't even blog for Fash Blogs. I know ya'll cannot possibly consider this or MGG2SL a Fash Blog, right? Anywho, I never pass up an opportunity to give my opinion, especially when it's asked for. :o

SLBloggers Business Meeting
Yup, we finally made it to one. Hooray! It's really great to sit at a table surrounded by greatness. I was completely star struck. Of course my AO tote makes me look like I have A.D.D or have to pee really bad. I don't think anyone really noticed so I didn't screw with it. :D So like things were talked about, stuff was decided & yada yada yada. I need to look at the transcripts cause I think the Fritos & Bean Dip made me forget stuffs. That's my excuse anyways or it coulda been Hawks cracking me up in Skype. Iunno.

Gamble Everything For Love...
Hawks & I may have taken time off from the JH Report but we did start on a music video. This idea popped in my head & it like really made sense and stuff. Those are the bestest brain farts. We started filming the music video tonight and I woulda tote been done slapping it together had we shot enough footage for the song. We'll try again tommorrow to get it done. We just ran out of time tonight. Only like a minute more or somethin, iunno. I'm tired & I think that's what it said. :p

To Buy or Not to Buy
So Annia, our neighbor in Mignon that faces our Wildmutt land, or we face her mayhaps, has decided to start selling off plots near our home. The one directly in front seems safe, for now anyways. That's the one if any that I would want us to own. It won't help us prim-wise being that it's not in the same sim but if buying it would preserve the waterfront view, I'm all for it. I am leary though since she hasn't posted any prices or set any of it for sale and we know that she paid a crazy stupid amount for it. She just has these pink boxes scattered with a notecard inside...
Annia Lands For Sale owned by Annia Dreier gave you 'Annia Lands For Sale' (SLURL) - "Hello, IM me if you want buy land in mignon sim or enzo sim too. Thanks"
So like anyone wanna be our neighbor? :p

Sci-Fi Blogger Party

Watch the vid...

CORRECTION: The party was hosted by Veyron

Tuesday, June 5, 2007

Uh... Halp!

Okay I need outfit ideas for this Blogger party. I'm not into Sci-Fi anything nor do I own anything Sci-Fi. Hmmm I do have that Princess Leia slave get up that we made. Ack! But it's scripted for da secks. Mmmm sexcapades. I mean, huh? Okay back on topic. Probably not a good idea to wear it & have it accidentally clicked.

Is Heroes considered Sci-Fi? That we can do. Aren't they even showing episodes on the Sci-Fi channel now? Hell if I know. Anywho... ideas, suggestions? Halp!

Next Blogger Party - June 16th - Theme Selected

I finally got us added days ago to the Second Life Blogosphere - Zoe Connolly showcases the growing community of Second Life Blogs and Bloggers. Join our inworld group - Second Life Bloggers. Yet I haven't once seen one of our posts hit it. I'm tired of begging. LOL So anyways for all ya'll out there that don't care but blog & want to party, here's the 411 on the next "blogger" party.

Veyron Supercharge said:
By a 38% margin, the theme for the next party will be SciFi. Formal came in a close second at 31%. If you want to dress formal SciFi, that would be fine. :)

I'd like to start the party early and maybe go on for a while to better accommodate our European bloggers.... I'll get invites together and maybe a schedule.

Thanks everyone!
